This procedure is a very safe and tolerable in-office procedure. We apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area prior to the procedure to make it more comfortable, with most patients experiencing little to no discomfort. The actual Opus treatment takes anywhere from 15 - 30 minutes. During the treatment, you may feel some warmth as the plasma energy penetrates deep into the skin.
After the Opus procedure, the treated area may be red and feel like a sunburn for about 1 - 3 days. After 3 -4 days, you may experience mild skin flaking or peeling. It is recommended that patients avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours after the treatment since their skin will be sensitive to UV light. However, you will be able to immediately get back to your normal routine after a treatment session. Your provider will tell you more about any skincare products to avoid, including the importance of using sunscreen after your Opus treatments.
• Over-the-counter pain medication or cool compress is recommended if you experience minor pain/discomfort post-treatment
• Regularly wash the area with a non-irritating skin cleanser and apply a healing ointment (such as Aquafor) until the treated area has fully healed or post-care products given at the time of the visit
• Redness, swelling, and crusting may occur and resolve with time (usually 24-72 hours)
• Avoid sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen to prevent further sun damage
• Do not shave, wax or use depilatory creams in the treatment area for a few days
• Avoid heat - hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days
• Avoid skin irritants a few days post-treatment
• Avoid products containing tretinoin, retinal, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.
• Multiple treatments are required
• Makeup can be applied 2 days post-treatment.
• Notify your provider of concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, itching, etc.)
This place is an other world experience. I promise you won't regret it! I never understood the difference between MedSpas but after speaking with Dr. Patel and having her inject me... WOW! Wish I was more educated before about HOW important it is for the person injecting you to TRULY understand anatomy. Dr. Patel is SO knowledgeable and I truly appreciate that she continues to educate herself by attending seminars and getting certified for all kinds of things that will likely become "mainstream" in like 5 years. I'm okay with her being out of office when I need her for that reason, haha. She never pushes fillers or botox. On the other hand, she encourages you to take CARE of your skin and try anti-aging laser remedies (they offer so many types!). I'm literally never going anywhere else!

Opus is an FDA-approved, Fractional Microplasma Radiofrequency Technology (FMRT) that improves the skin by targeting deep lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, scars, skin laxity (looseness), texture changes, and more. Using plasma energy, Opus creates a unique effect that both improves and rejuvenates the skin.
Opus works by using high RF energy to convert nitrogen and oxygen in the air into plasma sparks. This plasma energy creates microchannels on the skin surface surrounded by healthy skin to promote a wound-healing response. This response prompts the rapid growth of new skin cells and collagen stimulation. Unlike other treatments which remove the top layer of skin, Opus stimulates natural growth deep in your skin. As these new skin cells develop, the old ones fall away, revealing the new skin for a fresher, more youthful look. Because the top layer of your skin isn't removed, the downtime is minimal and heals very quickly. Opus is also very customizable. It can be calibrated for a "light" effect, which is like a chemical peel, or a stronger setting which is similar to laser treatment.
Fine Lines and wrinkles
Skin laxity (looseness)
Uneven tone
Unwanted pigmentation
Stretch marks

On average, an Opus treatment lasts about 15 minutes. Sometimes a treatment can last up to 30 minutes depending on the treatment area and what aesthetic issues are being addressed.
The number of Opus treatments you’ll need will depend on the treatment area and your aesthetic objectives. During your consultation, your provider will assess your skin condition and ask you about your goals. Often, 2 -3 treatments will get great results.
Prior to the treatment, we will apply a numbing cream to make you as comfortable as possible, but you may still feel a mild pressure sensation and heat during the treatment.
Many patients often see results after as little as one treatment. For many patients, as new collagen forms in the skin, the best results will be seen in about three months.
