IPL PHOTOFACIAL FAQ

WHAT IS AN IPL PHOTO FACIAL?

The Limelight Photo Facial is a non-invasive approach to skin rejuvenation which delivers a customized treatment for all different skin tones and aging skin conditions. The Limelight Photo Facial selectively treats brown and/or red pigmented areas on your skin.

HOW Does IT WORK?

The Limelight IPL treatment uses advanced non-laser IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology. We gently deliver precise amounts of light energy to the area being treated. The light passes through the skin’s surface to help release stubborn sun spots, reduce blood flow to broken capillaries and stimulate collagen production. The new collagen softens the appearance of the skin, reducing the effects of aging such as enlarged pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. It is also extremely effective in treating redness and acne associated with rosacea.

What skin conditions does it treat?

  • Sun Damage

  • Redness

  • Acne associated with rosacea.

What are the BENEFITS OF IPL PHOTO FACIALS?

  • Evens out skin tone and reduces redness

  • Promotes Collagen Stimulation

  • Non-invasive treatment with no downtime

  • Reduces the appearance of brown and red spots

  •

Am I a candidate for IPL?

You are a candidate for IPL if you are a skin type 1-4.

You are a candidate if you burn in the sun.

Can IPL be used on all skin types?

IPL is safe to use on skin types 1-4.

How long does the treatment take?

30 Minutes

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend getting a series of IPL treatments to deliver gradual improvements to your complexion. Every treatment will fade surface irregularities and spots. A series of treatments also allow for longer-lasting improvements.

What will the treatment feel like?

Patients describe the procedure as feeling like little rubber band snaps. No numbing is required.

Is there downtime?

You may experience mild, temporary side effects, like redness, swelling, blisters, crusting, or bruising. These go away on their own in a few days. Your skin will be sun sensitive, and excessive sun exposure will affect the results of the procedure. You should also wear sunscreen to prevent issues, like redness and spots.

When will I see results?

Improvements can usually be seen following your initial IPL treatment, but optimal results develop about one month after a full series of treatments is completed. It is common for your skin to see different responses following every treatment session. You should see gradual improvements in blotchiness, redness, sun spots, and age spots over time.
