IPL Photofacial explained by your provider

What to expect before, during, and after your Photofacial.

Candidacy

Is IPL Photofacial right for you?

IPL isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. It works best on fair to medium skin tones (Fitzpatrick 1–4).

Patients with darker skin tones, a history of skin cancer, or certain medications may not be candidates. Your provider will evaluate your skin and history during a personalized consultation.

What to expect

The IPL Photofacial procedure

After a quick cleanse, a cool gel is applied and you'll wear protective eyewear. The IPL device delivers brief pulses that feel like a light rubber-band snap.

Sessions take about 15–30 minutes. Mild redness afterward is normal; pigmented spots typically darken and flake away over the following days, revealing clearer, more even skin.

Individual experiences may vary based on skin type and concerns.
