Laser Vein Removal Therapy is used to target spider veins in the face and legs. The gold standard treatment for spider veins is laser therapy. Spider veins, also known medically as telangiectasia or venulectasias, are tiny red, blue or purple thread-like veins near the surface of the skin that often take on the appearance of a spider’s web. These perpetually dilated and visible veins, caused by increased pressure to the veins, can develop on any part of the body, including the face, but most often appear on the thighs, calves, ankles or buttocks.
Before your treatment:
Do not wear makeup on the day of treatment
No sun-tanning or self-tanners 4 weeks prior to treatment. Includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.
Some medications or supplements may increase the risk of bruising. Consult with your physician
Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)
Notify your provider of any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment
History of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription prior to treatment
• Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.
• The treatment should take 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the treatment area.
• Most patients experience a stinging sensation as the pulse of the energy is delivered from the laser. Although no local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required, some patients opt to use a topical anesthetic prior to treatment.
• Following treatment, the pain is minimal to nonexistent.
Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen to prevent further sun damage
Bruising, redness, and swelling are common and resolve with time
A “bug bite look” is common and usually resolves in 1-2 days
Avoid heat – hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days
Avoid skin irritants a few days post-treatment. Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.
Notify your provider of concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)
Leg vein treatments only:
o Compression stockings (20-30 mm/hg) are optional
o Avoid high-impact activity for 3-5 days
o Hemosiderin staining (brown staining) may occur after treatment and usually resolves with time (can take 1-2years) but, on rare occasions, it may be permanent
o Strict avoidance of sun exposure may decrease the risk of permanent hemosiderin staining
o Large leg veins may take many months to resolve and should not be re-treated before then
Consult with your provider about when to resume your skincare regime.
This place is an other world experience. I promise you won't regret it! I never understood the difference between MedSpas but after speaking with Dr. Patel and having her inject me... WOW! Wish I was more educated before about HOW important it is for the person injecting you to TRULY understand anatomy. Dr. Patel is SO knowledgeable and I truly appreciate that she continues to educate herself by attending seminars and getting certified for all kinds of things that will likely become "mainstream" in like 5 years. I'm okay with her being out of office when I need her for that reason, haha. She never pushes fillers or botox. On the other hand, she encourages you to take CARE of your skin and try anti-aging laser remedies (they offer so many types!). I'm literally never going anywhere else!

The Cutera CoolGlide laser delivers pulses of light energy which causes the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.
